Students making large scale prints with Fraser Taylor

Students making large scale prints with Fraser Taylor

It’s nearly been two months since we reopened following lockdown, and it’s been so wonderful being able to welcome everyone back into the studio. Following the success of this trial period and thanks to the size of our printing table, we’ve decided to start allowing two members in at a time from 7th September. Social distancing measures will still be in place along with our Covid-19 guidelines, and we will continue to monitor the situation in line with the Scottish Government’s advice.

In addition to this we’ve been busy working on a new course programme to launch in September. We’ve just announced a weekend course with guest tutor Fraser Taylor, who delivered a fantastic workshop with us back in March. As the course is limited to three places it will be a fantastic opportunity to work on large scale experimental prints, and you will benefit from personal tuition over the weekend.

If you’ve been on the website recently you may have noticed the launch of our online shop! Here you’ll find all of our binders, pigments and other materials ready to purchase either ahead of or during your visit to the studio. We’ve made some adjustments to the cost of coating and exposing extra screens meaning it is now cheaper for members, and we’ll still be including one screen up to A2 every time you book the £25 table hire.

We’re hoping the online shop will allow us to better keep track of stock levels, as well as meaning that we can go cashless at the studio. As always if you’ve got any feedback on this please just let one of the team know or drop us an email. Thank you to Ruth Mitchell for the great photographs - tape has never looked so good.

Finally we want to extend our gratitude to all of our members (old and new) - we’re blown away by how busy we’ve been since reopening, and appreciate your custom so much. See you at the studio soon!
