New Lockdown Restrictions Announced

Following the announcement by the First Minister on Tuesday 17th November that Glasgow will be entering into Tier 4 of lockdown restrictions. As of today, Print Clan has made the difficult decision to once again close the studio for the time being. Our upcoming workshop with Fraser Taylor will be rescheduled, and all members with upcoming table hire appointments have been contacted.

Since reopening the studio back in June, we have kept bookings at a reduced capacity and carefully followed Covid-19 prevention guidelines in order to safely allow our members to use the space. We have been overwhelmed by the demand for access since reopening, and have been delighted to have over 20 new members sign up in the past 4 months. Through a time of great uncertainty for the arts, we have seen an increased demand for Print Clan which has allowed us to feel quietly confident for the future.

Although in-person Print Clan will be suspended until at least the 11th December, we are grateful to be able to continue our Print From Home project, with two courses starting next week, and three new cohorts just announced for 2021. We specifically designed these courses to be able to go ahead regardless of lockdown restrictions, and thanks to funding from Creative Scotland the project will provide some financial stability for our team.

Whilst the studio is shut for bookings we will still be able to provide screen preparation services for members and non-members wanting to print at home, and we are currently working on an equipment rental scheme for those who don’t have their own equipment access.

Thank you again for your continued support during this difficult time - we look forward to welcoming you all back to the studio soon.
