Design and screen print your own fabric patch ready for upcycling and particpating in ‘Mend in Public Day’ as part of Fashion Revolution Week 2026.
Mend in Public Day stands as a beacon of change in a world inundated with fashion waste. The idea is simple: join our community and mend in protest against disposable fashion.
By participating, you’ll be part of a global creative action resisting the cycle of excess through repair and reuse. Amidst busy Saturday shoppers, we will repair our worn textiles with unique printed patces and spark conversations on making Loved Clothes Last.
Your screen printed fabric patch can be used to mend and cover holes or stains and extend the life of your favourite clothing. Or use it to simply upcycle and embellish an old wardrobe staple!
What will happen during the workshop?
Print Clan are hosting a mending workshop as part of Fashion Revolution Week 2026.
We will begin by helping you prepare, draw and cut your personal design for print. Taking you through the screen printing process before you screen print your own bespoke fabric patch.
You’ll leave the session with your own personalised fabric patch, perfect for mending - approx A5 in size. We will also have hand sewing materials available, where, with guidance from our tutor, you can sew it directly onto your garment or accessory too.
Print Clan C.I.C. is a Glasgow’s only open access textile screen printing studio and we hope to encourage community participation in slow fashion and traditional crafts.
I have never done screen printing before, can I come?
Of course - the workshop is suitable for all skills levels. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is necessary.
This mending session is discounted from our standard workshops, to encourage inclusivity and participation.
Equipment Provided:
Equipment and materials such as screens, squeegees, a range of ink colours, hand sewing equipment, newsprint paper, cutting mats and knives are all included.
You will also be provided with different fabric patches to print your design onto, however if you have your own garment which you would like to upcycle and print your design striaght onto, you are welcome to bring that along, along with any other fabric scraps and patches for printing! Light coloured, natural fabrics/garmets work best.
