Life Drawing & Textile Printing Evening

  • Drawing Life Studio 33 Rosevale Street Glasgow, Scotland, G11 6ES United Kingdom (map)

What will happen during the workshop?

The evening will begin with a life drawing session where you will create a series of drawings from a life model. The model will sit for a combination of short and long poses in different positions and the tutor will be on hand to answer questions and give you guidance on your work.

Following this, you will be shown step by step how to translate one of your drawings into a 3 colour design which you can screen print onto a textile of your choice.

I have never done screen printing or life drawing before, can I come?

Of course - the workshop is suitable for all skills levels. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is necessary.

What will I make?

Initially you will create a series of drawings from the art materials available, or you are welcome to bring your own. You will then move on to screen print your own personalised tote bag, tea towel or t-shirt, the choice is yours.

Equipment Provided:

Equipment and materials such as paper, pencils, charcoal and pastels will be available for drawing; screens, squeegees, a range of ink colours, newsprint paper, cutting mats and knives are all included for the screen printing activity. If you have a garment which you would like to print your design onto, you are welcome to bring that along with you!
