Our two hour Beginner’s Workshop is the perfect introductory session to textile screen printing!

What will happen during the workshop?
You will be introduced to the basic techniques of textile screen printing, using blank screens and paper stencils to create prints. You will have the chance to experiment and create a range of samples, focussing on colour, shape and texture. You will then move on to print a personalised tote bag.

I have never done screen printing before, can I come?
Of course - the workshop is suitable for all skills levels. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is necessary.

Equipment Provided:
Equipment and materials such as screens, squeegees, a range of ink colours, newsprint paper, cutting mats and knives are all included. We will also provide fabric samples and a tote bag, however you are welcome to bring any additional fabric for printing along with you - natural fabrics such as a plain cotton or linen give the best results. Likewise if you have a garment which you would like to print your design onto, you are welcome to bring that along too!

Your Tutor:
Arianna Mele is a practising Fashion and Textile designer and co-founder of Print Clan. She completed a BA in Fashion & Printed Textiles at Middlesex University, before being granted a scholarship to study an MA in Fashion Design Technology at London College of Fashion. She has spent the last 10 years specialising in printmaking for fashion. With her industry standard expertise in the technical aspects of textile printing, Arianna supports Print Clan members and artists to produce ambitious fine art projects.
